'Is there not a cause?’
Dear Ministry Friends,
The historical account of David and Goliath never ceases to touch me deeply. You will recall how David took supplies to his brothers who were in a tense face-off with the Philistines and their gigantic leader. David arrived, sized up the situation, then when his brothers chided him about what he was doing at the battlefront, his answer was five words that should challenge us today, more than ever, “Is there not a cause?” (1 Samuel 17:29).
“Is there not a cause” was asked because survival of God’s children was at stake. Though King Saul and his army understood the danger, David, even as a youth, realized that action was needed urgently. Someone needed for stand up for righteousness. Someone needed to bring deliverance to the nation.
David, with God’s anointing, refused to be paralyzed by the overwhelming odds or life-and-death peril. He acted in faith, and the history of an entire region of the world was changed that day.
Let me direct your attention to another person in the Bible, the prophet Ezekiel, who asked the “Is there not a cause?” question in a different way: “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none” (Ezekiel 22:30). What better cause than the salvation of souls?
Today, God has given us a vital cause. He is asking us to stand in the gap all over the world. With the global population almost 7 billion, the need has never been greater.
Because you have stood with this ministry, we continue moving thru this time of Big Harvest. I just met some of our state coordinators and praised the Lord after listening to their amazing testimonies of how God is using our missionaries all over India. And by the time you read this I will be in New Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, where God is moving in amazing ways and hundreds are accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord Savior. And to Jesus be all the praise. Watch for an exciting photo-filled report I am sending to you in coming days.
And, your faithfulness as a partner, both in prayer and financial support, continue to make it possible for the ministry to walk thru so many incredible doors of opportunity. During the past 3 months alone, while I was in USA, many lives have been forever transformed as they have experienced the glorious touch of God’s power thru the efforts of our missionaries. To God be all the glory for what is being accomplished for the kingdom!
We have much to do. We must stand in the gap. We have a cause much greater than any of us can accomplish alone! Together, we can accomplish all God has called us to do.
And there is much to do. Even with today’s technologies, millions of people around India and Nepal still have never heard that Jesus loves them. Many have never heard His name mentioned and do not know that He came “to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10)
The Bible declares, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Mathew 24:14). Together we can make this a reality!
I am asking you, as never before, to be faithful in your part of this season as amazing doors continue to open. Give your most generous gift in expectation that God will do something unprecedented and wonderful in your own life as He uses your gift to touch souls around India and Nepal!
As we move toward the end of 2008, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done for the work of Lord and for standing with me as a partner to declare the good news of the Gospel to India and Nepal. Your love and faithfulness means so much to me and to countless thousands upon thousands of people in this part of the world. Thank you for understanding our God-given cause, for standing in the gap with me, and most of all, for making a difference for eternity.
In His Service,
K.G. Easo
P.S This year as we join our hearts and hands together, we can see more lost and hurting people touched by God’s power than ever before. Your faithful support will help us say yes to more missionaries who are willing to join us. As the Lord leads, send your best gifts today. There is a cause an eternal purpose, and together you and I have the honor of taking the message of God’s saving power to those who still haven’t heard!
'Christmas for Street Children'
There are an estimated 11 million street children in India. Many are forced to fend for themselves for their own existence by begging, stealing or other means.
While Soul Winners India can't help them all, we are doing our part to help 500 street kids this Christmas. It's going to be called, 'Christmas for Street Children.' Our coordinators in different states of India will set up, in several villages, a program where they invite the children. They set them up near the churches and the invite all the children to come in for a Christmas party.
We are going to share the street of Jesus' birth and how Herod wanted to kill Jesus when he was a child. A lot of children can relate to that being on the streets and how Jesus was born in a stable and of course the children can connect to that, being very poor.
The ministry is also an opportunity for other kids. Some of the other children that are there in our local orphanage do the Christmas story in a skit. And, they hand out some treats and some new clothes for the children.
All these children will receive a small gift packet containing a New Testament, some toys, notebook and pencil, a cookie packet, toothbrush and toothpaste and some clothes. One gift packet will cost $10. Your investment is a life-time investment. It's not just a one day thing. They are going to be nurtured and discipled by the adults and the families of the local churches where these programs are held. So, these children can grow up in the church to be loving, bold disciples for our Lord Jesus Christ.
